Portland is a foodie town, for sure! A number of years ago, we had the opportunity to go to Portland for a long weekend and stay with extended family in their lovely home. They gave us a tour of the city and knew all the best spots for eating delicious food, including a gourmet ramen meal and Egyptian coffee / tea on a double decker bus! Everything grows well in Oregon, so the farmers market there was top-notch and had a booth with many different types of mushrooms…yummy!

We also had time during the day to sightsee on our own…the transit system works well there, so it was convenient to get around. It was fun to visit a huge bookstore, beautiful Japanese garden and doughnut shop. The weather in Portland is rainy and we definitely did experience that while there. I think it added authenticity to our visit and made it that much more special to enjoy a chai latte.

This photo is of a hot beverage one morning when we stopped by a breakfast place and got some food, including their amazing bagels. May it remind you of rainy Saturday afternoons inside with a comforting hot drink.
